You Are What You Do

Before you start taking a walk through this article, please breathe a word of thanks to God because he has given you another year in your life to live and experiment.

Now back to the title I've chosen for the article. It is a famous quote of Aristotle, referred by my Guru in the training I participated when I started my career as a lecturer. He said that you can make a bunch of skilled professionals from the team of students you have in the same time you can make them into a bunch of criminals. It all depends on you, because you have them with you the entire day.

I always made it a point that I teach the values of life together with the subjects. I’ve taught them humanity, Love for one another, teamwork to ensure that they grow not only as professionals but also as good humans in this world. I am sure they will see me and my God when they are benefited.

A lot of things happen in our life and many for which you may not understand why it’s happening? You may not know many times things happen because you let it happen. You may not agree my statement in the first place and it’s very common. We hold the responsibility for many things happening to us and around us. We fail to teach others the art of being responsible.

I read this in the internet. It is a true incident. This happened in Hyderabad [INDIA], recently.
It was a sports stadium. Eight Children were standing on the track to participate in a running event. With the sound of Toy pistol.
All eight girls started running. Hardly had they covered ten to fifteen steps, when one of the smaller girls slipped and fell down, due to bruises and pain, she started crying. When the other seven girls heard the little girl cry they stopped running, stood for a while and turned back. Seeing the girl on the track they all ran to help. One among them bent down, picked her up gently and enquired as to how she was. They then lifted the fallen girl pacifying her. Two of them held her firmly while all seven joined hands together and walked together towards the winning post...

There was pin drop silence at the spectator's stand. Officials were shocked. Slow claps multiplied to thousands as the spectators stood up in appreciation. Many eyes were filled with tears. The sport was conducted by National Institute of Mental Health. All these special girls had come to participate in this event. They were spastic children. Yes, they were Mentally Challenged.

What did they teach the WORLD? Humanity? Teamwork? Responsibility?....

My dear friends let us add a few pointers to our existing responsibilities in this New Year. Let us teach our children and friends to love one another as we love ourselves. Let them have the empathy for good and bad things in life so that when it is good let them take part in the joy and if it is not good let them take part in helping it out. Let us build a Family of love, a city of togetherness and a Nation of peace.
God bless you.
